I'm sorry, the sticker is blocking. Maybe Steven can figure it out.

I looked at the base again.  I think it is an unintended mark from the firing process.

Hi Curt,

I can't figure out the symbol on the base as well, I agree with you that it might be an unintented mark as you addressed.

Also I am with Joey, and never seen anything like that before, at same time I agree with you if its a modern fake, it should have some similar bottles somewhere, not just one of a kind, which really confused me. I actually bought some contemporay bottles, which I have not found any same one so far, but I will keep it, since they are special no matter what.Smiley

I had a  feeling the bottle was stained by using the chemical, which its a sign which was made to look old than it should be.

Sorry that I can't help more, hoping some porcelain experts here can help you more on the dating, I am just a fake expert. Grin

Steven,
Do you mean an expert on fakes, or a fake expert? I could accept the first, but not the second.

Dear all,
I believe that the "mark" is not indeed a mark but a bat (hey, funny sound that "but a bat"). To me it is a not well fired bat, we can see the head pointing down and clearly its left wing.
The glaze is not teadust, it looks a camellia green glaze, with its typical fine crackles, and I agree that it seems artificially aged. The shape is strange and I am wondering if it was indeed intended to have a metal cilindrical jacket all around the recessed body.

Dear Giovanni,
You are a genius! Not about the sound thing; no, about it being a bat. It IS a bat. Well spotted.
And also about a cylindrical metal 'jacket' around the recessed part of the body, possibly in the Mongolian style. Well done, on both points.

Neither have I ran across a bottle like yours Curt..

I wonder if there is any way that at one time it may have had bone, or some other material wrapped around the recessed area of the bottle.. ?

I think it is a pretty bottle  Smiley
