Hello!

Thankyou for accepting me into this group! I am studying a Master of History (Public History and Cultural Heritage) and I also volunteer at Antiquities Museum within the University. As part of my volunteering I have been completing research on artefacts, which have been 5th century Etruscan pottery up until now.

I have now been tasked with finding information on an Inside painted Chinese Snuff bottle that is part of the collection and will be going on display early next year. I hope that this group will be able to help my search and I also hope to learn much more about these beautiful items.

I look forward to chatting in the forums.
Thanks
Carrich

Dear Carrich,
welcome here. I am not expert on inside painted bottles, but the one  that you have shown is not worth to be on display in my opinion, because it is not antique, and of average quality. It is what is called as tourist item.
Others more experts than myself on inside painted bottles will be  more precise.
Kind regards
Giovanni

Thankyou for your welcome!

Very disappointing to learn that this lovely little bottle is likely nothing more than a tourist item, although I guess there is a story there with the sharing of the importance of cultural heritage of such a beautiful Chinese artform.

Kind regards
Carrich
