Hi,
am I correct that this bottle was painted by Ye Xiaofeng in 1958? And what is the subject of the scene, please? Height of the bottle with the stopper is 8 cm.

Thank you very much!

Mat

Yes Mat, you are correct on the date & artist.  Ye Xiaofeng appears to have been pretty active in 1958 painting bottles with traditional Ye family motives.  Sorry I can't help you with the identification of the scenes.

Hi Mat

Yes, it is signed Ye Xiaofeng and dated mid-autumn, 1958.

The subject is taken from the scenes from the classical novel, The Dream of The Red Chamber.

For your reference.

Regards.

Hi Tom and Richard,

thank you very much for your help! Of course, I should have thought of "The Dream of The Red Chamber" myself.

Regards,

Mat
