Great that you have done this Charll.  Is there a similar link to the Helen Pritchard Collection Pieces that were on display at Bonhams?

Hi Charll

Thanks for sharing the link.

I was about to ask the same question about the Pritchard Collection Pieces.

Regards.

Dear Charll,
Thank you very much. It is a pleasure looking at them. BTW Bonham’s experts are not so good in botanic 😊:
The bottle #18, with a generic description of “flower”, is representing orchids.
The “flowers” on bottle #52 are magnolia.
The bottle #59 is representing egg-plant, not gourd.
But they have been right with bottle #56 representing magnolia bud.
Kind regards
Giovanni

I compared my enamel on milk glass bottle, sold to me as Ye Bengqi in 1982 at
the ICSBS NYC convention that year, to another bottle attributed to him.
Three characters in the mark are identical [Qianlong - zhi] only the 'Nian' character
is not.
And the trees and the borders are almost identical.
I was later told that mine was Wang Xisan, but his son says it isn't by him.
I don't know any other enamelers working before 1982.
I'm going back to attributing it to Ye Bengqi...
Best,
Joey

All,

In regard to the Helen Pritchard Collection Exhibition, that one is not posted on the Bonhams' site.  I did ask for it to be posted in the ICSBS website.  We'll have to wait to see if that will happen.

Guys, Re.The ICSBS Forum site,
I tried to answer Cathy Shapiro's question [posted multiple times] re.
whether my 'Christmas' gem snuff bottle was Moghul, not Chinese, and
a scent bottle, not a snuff bottle.
Both questions coming out of 'a little knowledge', and we all know that 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing'.
I tried twice to post my explanation [that since both the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin and the Princeton University Art Gallery,
in Princeton NJ, have catalogued their examples, almost identical, but with paste gems, not genuine; mine is obviously also
a Chinese snuff bottle], without it being posted.
Best,
joey
