My friend Jackie Shulman [formally Jacqueline J. Shulman], has written a fictional novel of great charm, with one of the two protagonists a knighted Gay British snuff bottle collector, living in Rome ! And the other protagonist is an Ultra-Orthodox [Haredi] British Jew with a wife, 5 children, 19 grandchildren... and quite a secret!

I read it in one day, and loved it.

The title, you ask? [Since I've not yet given it]:

WHEN, IF NOT NOW? byJacqueline J. Shulman

I met Jackie and her husband David when they came to see a "Jewish-owned estate in County Wexford Ireland".
They are Jews from northern England who moved to Israel 20-30 years ago, and go to the UK regularly to see family. And then tour a bit in the UK and Ireland.

We became friends, they saw some of my snuff bottles, received copies of my publications [My 1987 Burgundy catalogue from the Israel Museum exhibition; and my 1998 "Worlds In A Bottle" catalogue from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art exhibition.], And the rest is History!

Best to all,

Joey
