I love these 'unwrapped' views.
An artist by the name of Suart did a whole series of these for the Bloch Collection. I'm guessing this is one of his.

Very beautiful.
I suppose that it has not been made with a special photographic technique, it must be matter of image processing software.

Dear Giovanni,

If this is by the artist who I think produces it, no computer software was involved. The artist carefully copied the scene from the bottle, using nothing more than watercolours, a brush, and his eye.

Tom

Very nice.

He ought to put them all together in a book as I would happily buy it.

Regards, Adrian.

Yes, these are quite amazing. And as Tom said, totally hand and eye - no technology used.
I have a watercolour showing the front and reverse of a Ye Zhongsan "Fish Swimming" subject in a Tourmalinated Quartz
[Black Hair Crystal] snuff bottle. It has the monogram GM [or MG] and 1971.
It was done for Hugh Moss 13 years before the Blochs started collecting snuff bottles 'professionally'.

Best,

Joey

Dear Tom,
thank you. I did not realize that it was a painting, I thought it was an elaborated picture of the SB painting.
Kind regards
Giovanni

I may be mistaken about the illustration being brush and watercolour.
Looking at some of Peter Suart's book illustrations I think it may be done with colouring pencils over a light wash.

Best,
Tom
