Dear Tom,
thank you but I knew the story already and I believe that Joey too knew that.
It is a rat (or mouse). Chinese ox is always represented with horns for what I have seen and the nose/mouth is square. The tips of the two tails are the same and just end as a naked tip, exactly like that of the rats (or mouse), unlike that of the ox, whose tail ends with a tuft.
