Yesterday I received a thick glossy sales catalog from Oakridge of Virginia.
Did ayone else get a copy?
I assume they got my name from ICSBS, as I've never heard of them before.
There is a large selection of Chinese porcelain. Of the 409 lots only 11 are snuff bottles, and these of very mediocre quality.

Dear Tom,

Sorry, I've never heard of them. Sounds like not a great loss, on my part.
Thanks for the 'heads-up'.
Best,
Shabbat Shalom,
Joey

Dear Joey,

I'm surprised you didn't receive two copies - one for being an ICSBS member, and one for being on the Board.   Grin
But you are right - no great loss concerning snuff bottles.

Best,
Tom

Tom,

As far as I know I have not received said auction catalog.  Though I've noticed that auction houses tend to ship internationally first, and often you've got the catalog before I did.  Have not paid much attention to Oakridge in the past, but have seen their auction items on the web at "Invaluable".  While at the ICSBS convention in Minneapolis this last September there was a couple recent past Oakridge catalogs on the convention book table.  It appeared that they had a fairly extensive sale of snuff bottles in the spring of 2019.  Maybe they are looking to develop a bigger presence in the asian market.
