Title: Grandmaster Lu Jianguang Post by: richy88 on October 28, 2017, 04:44:05 am Hi all
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of an inside-painting grandmaster, Lu Jianguang last night. His student posted the news this morning. According to what I learn from his student, he suffered a heart attack last night when nobody was home. He was 52. As most of you know, I do not collect that many inside painted bottles, but Grandmaster Lu is my favorite and I have the most inside painted bottles by him. May he rests in peace. I don’t really collect modern inside painted bottles but have seen Master Lu’s works in Geoff’s collection. I have to say I’m really amazed and impressed with the fine details he’d executed in those “grand events” painting. Though now he’s gone, Master Lu’s works will be deeply favoured and cherished by passionate collectors for long time to come. May he rest in peace. Thank you for letting us know. May he rest in peace, Joey Title: Re: Grandmaster Lu Jianguang Post by: wgeoff on October 29, 2017, 12:58:45 am That is really sad.
I remember well seeing him painting as visiting artist at Chinese Arts & Crafts in Hong Kong in around 2000, when I bought this six bottle masterpiece from him http://snuffbottle.smfforfree.com/index.php/topic,1989.0.html (http://snuffbottle.smfforfree.com/index.php/topic,1989.0.html) and then meeting him again in Singapore with Richy and Pin a few years ago. A great master of detailed inside painting and a very nice man as well. He achieved a great deal in his relatively short life and that is something we can all be thankful for. May he rest in peace in the knowledge he has left a great legacy. Geoff Title: Re: Grandmaster Lu Jianguang Post by: forestman on October 29, 2017, 05:22:28 am Hi Geoff,
