Antoher that came in the mail today..

I have had few bottles with the square shape before.. This one was unique ( to me ) in that the front and reverse sides are not perfectly flat like others.. Both sides are slightly domed.. Also a bit of a bevel cut onto the corners..

I am guessing this to be early 1900's .. Maybe 1920 to 1950. Only beause of the colors which I usually associate with Middle Period.

Nothing spectacular, but not so bad either..  Smiley

Hi George,

That is a later 20th bottle, the bottle shape and painting both can tell that.

George,
I agree with Steven, but that is a very nice modern example of the subject. I've not seen that subject before on a modern bottle; has anyone else? I had thought that, with the 'New China One Child Policy', such a subject, wishing many sons, would have fallen from favour.

Hi Joey,

The hundred kids subject is still a popular theme on modern bottles, Liu shouben and Wang xisan both painted a few of the subject, also some modern artists.

Here is another unsigned modern kids bottle, as good as George's..

"Wishing many sons" ...

Now I know the correct theme, instead of calling it children playing.

Steven, You reminded me of where I'd seen examples. Thanks,
