Let me share the eBay listing with you guys, and see what you make of it.. There are about 8 of these reprints being offered by the UK seller.

In my copy of Hitt there is no mention of the ICSBS anywhere.  It was printed by Charles E Tuttle Company, Inc in Japan.

That is the same as my copy, printed by Tuttle in Japan, in 1978.

Yes, that IS cheap! Interestingly, it's the same seller I just bought all the back copies of Mike Kaynes' Journal from....Valleyrich.

Dear George,
thank you so much. Very interetsing, I have never seen these images before.
Joey and Tom said that they have a copy? Is the series complete or are there other images?
Kind regards
Giovanni

Dear Giovanni,
I don't remember these illustrations in Henry Hitt's book... I think George found these in a different source text.

Dear George,
Thank you for sharing this set of illustrations. What is their source?

Shabbat Shalom to all,
Joey

Called, "Chinese Jade: The Spiritual and Cultural Significance of Jade in China", at http://tinyurl.com/oa2j2ev

Terrific illustrations George. It really drives home the patience AND effort required in those days!

If the book contains many more pictures like these I may buy a copy for myself.

Dear George,
Those are great for identifying archaistic designs on snuff bottles! Thank you for posting them.
Meanwhile, I've been on the Forum for 95 minutes when I should have been doing my morning prayers!  Grin
The Forum is addictive!

Hi George,

Thank you for the nice book recommendation, I just bought it too.

I also bought this one from Amazon:
Golden-Silk Smoke: A History of Tobacco in China, 1550-2010
by Carol Benedict

Will let you know if it relates to snuff bottle or not, after I have a chance to read it.

Sorry, can't resist to put in a another post.

Just ordered my copy today. The postage is almost as much as the book.  Sad

My copy was 18 Euros and the shipping to Ireland (where I keep my jades) 6 Euros.

Dear Joey,

One bookseller based in the UK was offering free post, but I didn't want to wait till next summer to read it, so I found a cheaper book deal in the  USA, which, even with high postage, means I can get it by year's end. For the few extra dollars, it's worth not having the wait.
