I changed themes since I could not alter the background color of the last one..

I am not as fond of this theme, but...... There have been many comments about the white text on black background.. So I am giving in..

Could use a show of hands from everyone who either likes or dislikes this new look ...  Smiley

Hey   again  George

This   deserves  a  double  PLUS  endorsement

My only ever "grudge"  re  the Forum   was  the  black  background

A few  other  members   commented  negatively  on the  black background  ("hard  on the  eyes"    sort  of  stuff)  but  I never    criticised    that   tiny  point   because    of    all the  pure  GOLD  coming  out  on the  Forum ,and   HEY, being   Forum -master  is  no envious  job, and   IMHO  you  have  handled  the  job in  sterling   fashion, balancing  the   extremists   vs  the   ultra-touchy-feely  types     ( hope  I  am I neither  of  those )

Love   Ya   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Cheers   Peter

Hey  ALL

Hey ALL

Do I need  to buy  drinks  for  you  all  in the  Pub    to  vote  for this positive   change ?

It's  almost  midday  Sunday   here  in  China  ( where  IPBs  are  created  -  please  let me  remind  you  all)

I  have  been  up  since  06.00  AM  and   working   full-time  on the   Forum

That's  almost  6  hours  of  my Sabbath  gone,  but   very  happily gone, because  every  minute  spent  on the  Forum  is  FUN   - it's FAMILY  !

And  the   Sabbath  is  all about  Family

Love  you  all

Cheers  Peter

George,
Again, Thank you so much. Wonderful! I'll be able to look at a screen more hours then before!!
Just joking, Peter. But I won't get the eyestrain I used to feel.

Yes, George it is most definitely a much needed improvement.  By the way I want to extend my sincere thanks to Peter, Joey, and everyone else who gave George a little push towards changing the fonts - it is literally the difference between night and day.

Thanks George, you've done it again – improved Snuff Bottle Collectors Heaven once more. Bravo.

Best regards,

Tom

George,

Last night was interesting!  As I was reading the various posts from yesterday and forum format was changing right before my eyes.  Some of your other designs for the intro header "Snuff Bottle Discussion Forum" were also nice.

Since Peter asked for an opinion with regards to a ‘thumbs up’ on the format change, the jury is still out.  My mind is still trying to adjust to it visually.  I understand the aging eyes issue, but the darker format had a more professional appeal and helps offset the photo better.  Though George, I am not advocating for a change.  Whatever works for you works for me!

You and I are on the same page.. My eyes have adjusted, although for me, and my old eyes, the white on black was easier.. Funny how that is different between us old farts..

Also highly agree about the previous format having a much more professional appearance..

Don't get me wrong gang.. I am ok with this new format, although I am glad Charll chimed in with my same thoughts..

Hi George

Please    let  me  cast   another  vote  for the  new  format

The     white -on- black  was  really , seriously   tough  on  my  eyes.

 Very   Seriously  !

I  never   complained  big -time :  Heck  -  you  have  enough  problems    balancing al the   different    view  points  on this  Forum , so that   the  last  thing  I  wanted  to  burden  you   with  was  the   format   change

But   truly  -  this  new  format  REALLY  IS   so much  easier  on  the   eyes, as  well as  much "brighter"  / lovable /  FUN  !   Cheesy    Cheesy     Cheesy   Cheesy   Cheesy

I'm  scared  that one  day  I may  lose  my  sight, as  did a Medical    Doctor   very  close   family  friend  of  mine  (he  lost  all   except   peripheral  vision  in just  3  days ) .   If that  ever  happens  to me   then  it's  bye  bye  to  the  internet  and  this  Forum  for  me  .

So  I think  you  owe  it  to  us  old  farts  to  keep the    Forum  open   and  BRIGHT !

Love   Ya !

Cheers, Peter

As a 'young' alte-kucker (old person) of 55, I strongly prefer the black calligraphy on white background.

I  enter  a   counter  vote  for  the  new     black  on   White/ Blue   format

Is it black on white/blue? I thought it was actually a shade of grey.
Whatever, it is MUCH BETTER than the white on black we had.
