Found that bottle painted by Ding Er zhong, Thought it would be fun to compare with the copied one.

The artist copy it stroke by stroke, pretty impresive work...

When we run into these kind of copies/fakes, it is easy to be fooled... jeez...

I agree with Peter. Truly a waste. It is a fake, by an extremely talented craftsman/craftswoman. If they would sign their own name to the work, I'd buy it in a second. But not a fake Ding Erzhong.
I feel a "Batman" TV series quote coming: "If only he had used his genius for good instead of evil". ;-)

That's scary, some parts of the landscape on the left hand side are nearly identical aren't they. At least it's fairly easy to tell the paint is new. If the copy artist had shook some sand around inside to rough it up a bit, it would fool me for sure.
