Still trying to determine just what kind of Jade these are carved from.

Nephrite, Mutton Fat/Hetian, or possible a russet mixture.., maybe black, yellow, or white.

Will have a better idea once I have them in hand.

The seller put these up as "buy now" for next to nothing, so I snagged em up !!  Cheesy

I am not an expert at all but this does not look like Jade to me at all.  Jade is much more shiny and has a luster to it.  This is more like some sort of soapstone.  If it is soapstone, then by definition it is a much softer material and much easier to carve and shape, hence the 'low' buy-it-now price. Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear, but the carvings are nice.

Being a lapidary, I am still not an expert with many stones..

So I inquired to some other lapidaries what this might be without any suggestion of a jade possibility. Jade was their first and only suggestion..

I sure hope these are a type of Jade.. After getting their opinions, that is how I listed them on eBay.. Already sold one, and the second one is on there right now.

I truly do always appreciate any comment Pat.. Even if it is not what I may want to hear..  Smiley

Now you have me second guessing this one..
