Dear Steven and Joey,
I have no idea about the artist, not my field.
The motif is surely known by you: the wasp and monkey use homophones wasp (feng) which also sound like confer (feng) and monkey (hou) sounds like duke (hou) for rebus meaning "May you be conferred the rank of Duque".
Kind regards
Giovanni

Steven,

This is fun!  I have absolutely no idea, and therefore, I can't make an educated guess (which bothers me) but I'll guess anyway.

Ma Shaoxuan?

It's interesting to me that the archaic script calligraphy is faintly painted differently than all the other  darker calligraphy around it.

Cheers,

Rube.

Dear Giovanni and Rube,

Thanks for your inputs!! and Yes Giovanni, you are absolutely correct on the motif,:)

And Dear Rube, good guessing on Ma shaoxuan, and the calligraphy does have some similarity with Ma shaoxuan's or more specifically, the calligraphy is closer to Ma shaoxian's.

However the painting style is a little off Ma family's.

I will have some example shared later.

Best,

Steven

First of all, thank you Steven, for posting the bottle on my behalf.
And I appreciate all opinions on the bottle.
I also thought of Ma Shaoxuan or Ma Shaoxian re.calligraphy. Or possibly Yu Shuyun ( see my example from WhiteWings).

Thank you, Giovanni, for adding cultural context. I was more interested in opinions on the artist, but we need to use every posting to share knowledge about Chinese Culture, also.

The bottle was sold to me as Zhou Leyuan by a major UK dealer, now deceased, and with a claim of provenance of either a major Bangkok collector or a major Honolulu collector, both also now deceased (I don't remember, but it was one or the other, according to the dealer).
Because of the serious provenance I thought ironclad (I bought it from the UK dealer), i did not check it seriously enough.

I do believe (as do a number of serious experts), that it is genuinely Middle Period ( ca. 1870-1930).
Best,
Joey

Dear Steven,

Did you ever find the examples you mentioned below?
I still don't know where to place this bottle.
Best,
Joey
