Steven, or anyone else with an opinion.

Steven per your ongoing research on CR themes and time period of painting, I have a question.   Attach is a Peach River Studio bottle, or maybe just a vase, that I would suspect was painted between 1972 to 1974.  Given the image, would you consider this a CR painted theme?  It appears so to me.

The bottle is little larger in that it is about 4.75 inches in size.

Appreciate all opinions,  Charll

Dear Charll,

That is a gorgeous inside painted vase, the painting strokes are very delicate and confident. I bet this vase is painted by a master. could be from Master Wu songling.

I agree with you on the date, it should be a early 70s bottles, besides jing school, Both Shantou school and shandong school all have some CR bottles painted.

I also agree with you that bottle should be a CR theme bottle or I will just call it CR bottle since it should be painted in the CR period, the theme is "herb gathering" which encourage the young generations go to countryside  or farm instead of staying in the city.

I have found some similar theme art pieces on different media.

If that is yours , Congratulations ! I like the vase.

Cheers!

Steven

Thanks Steven for the comments and information.

Yes the bottle is mine and does have a stopper.  It was represented as a snuff bottle at auction, but once I received it I questioned whether or not if it was actually intended as a vase.

Charll

P.S.- Can anyone make out (read) the Chinese characters?
