I am reminded of what Steven once told me... "That if I have not seen something before, it is probably not right or correct."

Since I have not seen bottles shaped like these before with these geometric ( ? ) shaped collars, would like to know what members make of them.. Both have a flat base..

Dear George,

Thanks you for remembering what I said, Grin Grin it won't always be the case, but for most of the time its true.

Those two bottles are perfect examples.

First of all, they are not jade, secondly, they are not carved, I would assume that they are modeled ,and  possibly made  by resin.

Best,

Steven

Hi both, I always think you know when you are dealing with a new bottle when you see applied staining to highlight the art work!!!!!!

Regards Jason.

All,

When you see the word 'hetian' used in the bottle description, you can be fairly sure it is 21st century, and to be avoided.

This word did not exist in snuff bottle terminology until very recently......and is mostly used by dubious sellers on eBay.

I was going to ask what 'hetian jade' was, but Tom basically answered my question.
Best,
