Hey Everyone,

I'd like to share another bottle that I recently acquired.
I think it's a Shandong bottle, measuring 2 3/16" w/o stopper.  I love the landscape, but the calligraphy on the other side
isn't great.  I'm hoping that someone may be able to help with the translation and date? Submitted is
a photograph under magnifying glass, since the calligraphy is pretty tiny, it's the best I can do.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Rube.

Dear Rube,

A beautiful IPSB. Sorry I can't help with the inscription, but possibly Steven, or Pin or Richard or Inn Bok, etc., can.
Best,
Joey

Hi Rube,

Thanks for sharing. The style is quite 'rustic'! I prefer the side without the calligraphy.

Hi Rube,

I quite like the style of painting which is a little different. There's a good sense of depth to it, especially on the side with calligraphy where the flowers sit in the foreground with the figure and cattle obviously more distant.

Regards, Adrian.

Hi Rube,

I also like the style of the painting but not the subject matter, I think the landscapes are very samey.

Regards Jason.

Hi,

Thanks for everyone who supplied comments about the bottle.  Adrian, I agree with you about the depth (the white flowers are well done) and Tom, I, too, prefer the landscape.

I was hoping someone could shed a clue to the calligraphy, but, oh well...

Cheers,

Rube.

Dear Rube,

Sorry for the late response on this, I have  been a little busy for past a couple of days.Smiley

I like the bottle! it appears that its a shandong bottle as you addressed.

The inscripts can be read" The spring of Jiang Nan(the south of the river), Painted in the August of 76(1976)by xxxx" I can't figure out of the artist since it was written a little carelessly, I will ask if any my friends can figure it out"

Thanks for sharing.

Joey,
Thanks! It’s my first bottle depicting a landscape,
which is what I really like.
