Dear all,

On 15 October, a few of us met up for lunch hosted by Kelvin on the island, Sentosa.
Picture taken before lunch and subsequent sharing of SB collecting experience. One of the main objective on that day was to taste the
" Sultan Fish " steamed and prepared by Kelvin's staff at the hotel kitchen  Smiley Smiley
Anti-clockwise from right : Inn Bok, Kelvin, Richard, JK Foo, Dr. Lum,
Daniel and Dominic.

Regards,
Inn Bok

Inn Bok,

I overlooked saying thank you for sharing this photo.
Comparing it to Richard's, I see this was taken before the wine arrived...!

Dear All,

I have enjoyed YT's hospitality on Sentosa before, and the place is stunning.
The food is really good as well! Though I did not get that fish.   Cry Grin
Next time, G-D Willing.  Roll Eyes Grin
Though I loved the satays and the soup I did get.  Grin
And all will agree that the bottles are first rate.
Best,
Joey

Hi Richard,

The answer is: whichever bottle has the greater vintage....!   Wink

Dear Richard,

I’m salivating as I read your post! Grin any durian as dessert? Cheesy

I tried the Sultan fish once in Malaysia, indeed an exquisite delicacy!

Hope to join one of your meeting when I next visit Singapore!

Thanks for the post and pics!

Best,
Samson

Hi Samson

Thanks for your comments!

Yes, wish you were here! All forum members are welcome to join us at our monthly gathering.

Oh, no durian this round. I think we probably will not include that as it may not be everyone's favourite.

By the way, I have moved this post to the proper thread so as not to have too many duplicated threads in the forum.

Regards.

Dear Joey,

Liking durian is an acquired taste for my international friends.

Years ago, a closed German friend of mine plucked up the courage to try durian. He bought one for about S$20 over the weekend. The following Monday, he told me he was disappointed that the durian he bought had only six seeds inside, rather expensive for a durian with only six fleshy seed inside. I asked him about the eating experience. Apparently, he opened it into two halves, with three seeds on each half. After eating them, he threw away the two halves !
I told him what he missed. He should have taken each of the halves and plied open each half into further quarters, the remaining seeds were waitting for him inside  Cheesy Cheesy

He learnt the secret thereafter and the family enjoyed their subsequent durian sessions !

Dear Inn Bok,

I have bought 'durian flavoured' candies from the Philippines  a few times, and they are fine. But fresh Durian's smell makes me feel sick.
And one eats the seeds, not the flesh of the fruit?
I thought one eats the fruit.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Durians stink
But taste good too !

Mary had a little durian
It's smell was just like poo
So everywhere that Mary went
The durian stink went too
