This one I think is a beauty! And only 5,5 cm high. I bought her at a flee market in Chinatown in Singapore in late 1990's. It is probably made for tourists, but still a nice item. The marks seem to be very fresh and new, but I'm a novice and don't know anything about chinese marks - yet. I would very much like to have a translation of the marks.
Best regards
Arne

Arne,

In my opinion your are right on both counts in the statement above.  A higher grade "tourist trade bottle" of above average quality, and I feel a very nice collector piece.  A nice crisp and fresh 4-character Quainlong (1736-1795) reign mark.

From the stand point of contemporary pieces, this would measure up to a quality level of many of my contemporary interior painted snuff bottles, which many of us collect.

I would agree with Charll, re. the modern copy of a Qianlong reign mark on this nice tourist-quality bottle.
Best,

Arne,

I agree with Charll and Joey. This is definitely one of the better quality examples of modern workmanship of this type I have seen. A nice one to have in your collection!
