    I'm thrilled for you that Steven agreed that it is Daoguang.
And YES, Steven; you should take it as a compliment. Wink
And Yes, Luke. More dots mean later.  Grin
The trefoil without any dots is late Qianlong/Jiaqing (ca.1790-1820). One dot between each two trefoils is Daoguang (1820-1850). Anyone with "Dragon" can compare #2 (Qianlong), #5 (Daoguang), #14 (Xianfeng/Tongzhi), etc.
With the proviso that the decorated object is genuine.
