dear all,

I have ended my holiday in Perth and will be going
back to Singapore tomorrow . Using the lead that
Joey passed to me before I left Singapore, I
managed to contact a Mr Ulrich Kunzmann, a
former member of ICSBS.
We managed to find time to meet up this afternoon
for a cuppa at the Hilton Hotel in Perth. he brought
some of his Ang I showed him some of mine.
I have introduced our Forum to him and encouraged
him to log into our Forum website asap.
I will send pictures of our meeting when I returned
home tomorrow .

Joey,
Thanks for the lead 👍👍

Regards

Inn Bok,

It must be lovely to meet a fellow collector. It would be nice if he joined the forum.
I have not yet had the privilege of meeting anyone who shares my passion for the bottles, and so continue in relative isolation.
The thought of meeting a total stranger is a bit daunting as well.

I wonder if there are unwritten or written meeting "rules."
I have had a couple of people now (not ICSBS members) ask to see my collection, and I don't know how to respond.

For example, I imagine you never meet at a collectors home.
And then as I start to collect better bottles, I am torn between wanting to keep my hoard private and wanting to show it off to the world.

I have not read all of the ICSBS journals yet, and wonder if this topic has been written about?

thanks,
Cathy

Dear Inn Bok,

I'm glad it worked out. I believe I met him at a convention once, but can't remember when.
Best,
Joey

Dear all,

As promised, I am sending a few pictures taken in Perth where I met for the first time a fellow SB collector.

Cathy,

I met Ulrich Kunzmann in downtown Hilton Hotel in Perth, over a cuppa. I suppose we decide on the venue based on our individual's comfort level. We spoke over the phone after I emailed him. It happened that he was the founding President of Perth's Rotary Club and they happened to meet weekly at the Hilton. So we met up after his meeting. Incidentally, he was managing hotels ( including Hilton Singapore in the early 1970's and a hotel in Penang in the 1980's ) as his profession.

In picture 6081, he was looking at one of my chalcedony bottles. The box of bottles are Ulrich's collection.

Regards,

Inn Bok

I met with Charll and his wife Donna after they drove all the way from California to visit as their Son lived near by.

We met at my house which I believe Charll enjoyed as much as I did.

Some members here meet with many other members quite often !
