Hi Mike, and welcome !

We will need one of our Chinese members to translate for you... But I like the bottle very much. Interesting motif of a man showing another man within..  I will try to find a meaning for that..

Perhaps Republic, but lets see what others reveal about it..  Regardless of age, nice bottle..

Hi Mike

Welcome here!  Can't help on the script, but the bottle shape suggests 70s/80s , man made crystal.  The theme is Buddhist but I don't know its meaning.

the title of the bottle is 罗汉图 ( Luo Han Tu) which is on the 2nd picture you shown.

Basically, it will translate to Painting of LouHan, which is a status acquired by individual after they depart from earth when they achieve a certain level in Buddhism..... the highest level will be Buddha, and theres many many different level before one reaches the stage of Buddha..... so LouHan is quite elementary stage.

Its painted in the year of the water Rooster and most likely in 1993.... as 1933 will be too early for the bottle IMO. Also, its painted in Spring time. 癸酉 (GuiYou), year of water Rooster 春(Chun) Spring......... both side of the bottle has these 3 words that signify the time and year of painting.... No artist signature

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Forum!

Just to add to Pin's response, the depiction of "Eighteen Luohan" is a popular theme in Chinese art, and regularly found on snuff bottles in various materials, including porcelain, ivory and jade. Seeing just two of  them here may be an indication that your bottle was once part of a series or set. Just a thought.
