A friend of mine purchased this.. I suggested it post 1950, but just to be sure can someone confirm a possible age  please ?

I think this is mid to late 19th, early republic at most.  It is interesting to see the museum catalog number on it.

George,

I'm in agreement with Pat.  When I looked at it this morning briefly I thought 1875 to early Republic Period as well. Four clawed dragon, so its not trying to be important.  It's not anything of great quality.  Maybe made for late 19th century domestic or as inexpensive trinket for export at the time.
