Hi everyone. What book is this Chinese Calender from? I have always had problems determining dates / signatures. Are there any books with close-ups of signatures? (particularly from the Middle Period). Is this book any good for that sort of thing: “Inkplay In Microcosm: Inside-painted Chinese Snuff Bottles - The Humphrey K F Hui Collection”.

Thanks very much. ( first post  Wink )

Hi James, and welcome to the forum !

This is a page from Bob Steven's The Collectors Book Of Snuff Bottles..

I use it all the time and yes, it does also have many great references to compare signatures..

I also often reference Bill Kirkpatrick's Snuff Bottle Artist site to compare signatures..

That website is extremely helpful, thanks George. Thanks Charll too for that document. Can i ask what the Chinese characters along the bottom of the table mean?

Not sure myself on the use of the characters across the bottom.  This is a reference I just recently acquired and have not used to date.  Maybe one of the members with familiarity with the Chinese characters can give us some insight on the bottom row characters are used.
