Dear Jason,

It looks 'sectioned', so I'm assuming a caterpillar.

Best,
Shabbat Shalom,
Joey

Dear Joey,

That's what thought, but it is very short for a caterpillar. Perhaps a bit of artistic licence on the part of the carver!

Regards Jason.

Jason and Joey,
I too think it's a bitty caterpillar.
George,
This is a great thread!
Cheers,

Very nice bottle!  The insects appear to be trying for a taste of the corn. I love the humor shown here!  Anyone come up with an idea on the age?  My hunch is early 20th century.

Dear Jo,

     I thought 50 or 60 years later.
Best,
Joey

Jo,
Yep, this bottle always cracks me up, but I do like the lines and angles, especially how the grasshopper's legs and the husk are shaped.

Cheers,
Rube
