Not so much a Friday Fun Bottle, more of a sad bottle.

It was in a lot of 5 bottles of which 2 were of interest but I could see this was once a very nice bottle which was pictured in the auction with a cinnabar bead in the broken mouth with a load of gunk holding it in place.

Red overlays with Chi dragons were a common Imperial theme especially when the tail wrapped around to form the footrim. The quality of the carving, control of the base glass and detailed mask and ring handles make this a sad loss of a high quality bottle.

The bead has been cleaned of the gunk, some sort of wax probably, and is carved cinnabar with dragons heads and will be used as an ojimie bead for one of my Inro. I'm wondering if there is any way to reform a neck in a clear epoxy resin to stabilise the bottle but I'm worried by the heat generated as the epoxy sets.

Regards, Adrian.
