Hello Pat,

Agreed, nothing wrong with modern. I'm largely trying to collect older bottles though and of the porcelain variety at the moment. I may turn to inside painted or organic next, but seems easier to just focus on one medium! I really did pay pennies for this one.

Yep the Christie's bottle is very appealing to me too. It's the type of bottle I would consider spending some money on if I had the chance to buy it Smiley

Dear Giovanni,

thank you for the advice on the base. Yes, the base is interesting here as there is no foot as such and the base is convex with a rounded foot rim. I will try and look at a few old and modern examples of bases like this. I just joined gotheborg and there looks like there's a lot of information on there about this type of thing - some of it must be applicable to porcelain snuff bottles too I guess.
