The other 4 bottles (and the cloud one ) are later 70s 80s Shandong. I actually still think that the monkey bottle is too . That is why I didn't bid on it myself .

What do you think about the possibility that the dragon is a copy of Bi Rongjiu's original dragon?
And do you have any idea how they do that cool effect with the paint?

The dragon bottle is oil painted I think . Shandong was the origin of this (posted this here on the forum ).

The character that I can't figure out might be also 象.... Meaning, looking a like

Notice that the monkey is chained to the rock.... it could be imitating the posture of an old man.... maybe the older man painted on the other side of the bottle.

Thanks Pin and Pat! Appreciate the info. I might take a q-tip to the dragon in clouds and do a small test area to check your theory that it's oil paint
