Photo taken today at the celebration lunch of the Hong Kong Chinese Snuff Bottle Discussion Forum held in Hollywood Road, Hong Kong today

Attendees from the left

Samson Lee (samsonlzj)
Joey Silver (Joey) - guest speaker
Kenji Ho (new member - about to be)
Curt Lam (Lamlam)
Geoff Welch (wgeoff)

A very enjoyable discussion and lunch.
The guest speaker did most of the talking (as expected - he was born on Saint Patrick's Day so he's part Irish) but other members managed to break in as he drew breath.

Hi Geoff

Nice photo.

Incidentally, a group of Singapore collectors also met yesterday for tea. I will post it in a separate thread.

Regards.

Dear Geoff,
thank you for posting that picture.
I am surprised by how young is Samson. It is good to see that new people do love this type of art!
And I am not surprised by the fact that the guest speaker gives you only a few chances for speaking, because I know him! Hahaha.
Kind regards
Giovanni

Thanks for all the comments.
We had a really good time together looking at bottles and enjoying lunch.

It was really great to have Joey with us - the comment above is just a joke. His conversation was vibrant, funny and full of valuable advice, as Samson says. We look forward to welcoming him here again in Hong Kong.

Geoff

PS Yes - Samson looks really young but he assures me he left school several years ago!

Guys,

I keep reminding you all that a late, dear friend of blessed memory, both a priest and a monk - Fr. Godfrey Koetzli   of OFM (The Franciscan Order), wrote in my guest book 20 years ago, "Joey, You must thank G-D Almighty every day that you were NOT born Catholic! Because if  you had been, you would have to give up talking for Lent!"    Roll Eyes   Shocked Grin

Simple way to keep me quiet - feed me delicious food like I've been enjoying with all of you since I arrived!  Roll Eyes
Best to All,

Dear all,

Well yea, I'm kinda young but not as young as Joey when he started it. I'm a youngster who enjoys mingling with "old-timers" to learn things! Wink

Best to all,
Samson

P.S. I am a father of a 3 year old, and soon a father of two... Smiley

All,

Thanks for sharing the group photo and comments.  As many have expressed it is nice to place a face to a name.  It helps in getting to know each one of you little better and provides an environment for more personable communications.  Thank you for sharing of  yourselves.

Samson,

Congratulations on pending addition to the family!!!

My boys are 4 years apart in age, which turned out to be a great.  It provided for better interaction and sharing of time, reduced competition between the siblings (but still allowed them to interact with each other and share activities), and provided good time  management in the kids school and extracurricular activities; i.e., there was very little overlap so we were able to be at all the events, as well as deal with the 'trials and tribulations' as they came up.

Dear Charll,

Thank you very much! Julia and I have always wanted a companion for Samuel. So thank God for this. Hopefully the new member in our family is gonna strengthen the love and bonding within the family even more! It so happens that my kids are gonna be almost exactly 4 years apart in age too, they're expected to have their birthdays both in the month of May. Really look forward to more joy and happiness as the family expands! Smiley

Best,
Samson

Dear Joey,

TODA RABA! Glad to know that you've arrived home safely. Hope you've enjoyed your stay in the "Fragrant Harbor" and your adventurous cross-continental trip. It's been a great pleasure for us to meet and catch up with you! Smiley Looking forward to the next meeting!

Have a good rest and be well!

Shabbat Shalom,
Samson

Thanks Jo, indeed a precious gift from Him. We can't be more grateful this blessing!

Best,
Samson

Dear Samson,

Thank you for everything you did for me when I was in Hong Kong.
I really enjoyed my stay, and my return was very comfortable and uneventful.
My only problem is arranging to get the catalogue sets sent to the St. Regis in Singapore, and
my warmer clothes sent on to the Sloane Club, redirected.
And I've just discovered that Cathay Pacific is starting to fly 4 weekly direct flights between Tel Aviv and Hong Kong from 26.Mar.2017, so I will be able to fly TLV-HKG or HKG-TLV in 10 hrs., as opposed to flying 5 hrs. NW to London, staying at least a few hrs. and then 13 hrs. to Hong Kong.
So I've an easier way to get to the Far East.
Best to all for Shabbat,
Joey

Dear Pat,

    Thank you.
G-D Willing, we will meet again soon. Now that Cathay is opening up a route, I will have a direct flight to Hong Kong and then a short hop to Bangkok (or Singapore, or Taipei).
Meet Wesley Kirkholm if you can. He is in Bangkok
Best,
Shabbat Shalom,
Joey

You're most welcome Joey, it's been my pleasure. It's certainly an exciting news for us that Cathay is starting a new route between Tel Aviv and HK! I have to seriously consider finally visiting Israel some time soon. Hopefully we will meet there. Wink

Samson
