Apparently Photobucket has been hit with some kind of virus..  It is a wide spread problem and sits like ours, eBay, blogs, etc.,  are all currently looking horrible because of it..

This is another reminder of what can happen when we depend on third party websites like Photobucket..

Sorry guys, and hope they get it fixed soon !

Dear George, that is exactly why I post the pictures here and I think that everybody should do; which requires more site’ space, hence two things that I continue stubbornly repeating: limit of picture size and payment of member’s fees. Space is costing.
Kind regards
Giovanni

This is actually getting to be pretty serious...

They posted that they are down for maintenance until ( 4:00 am ) earlier today..  What is worrying, is that if the site is down for maintenance, all the photos posted through out the internet should still work..

There is a great deal of work ahead for sites like ours if they are not able to recover from this hack..

Hi All

I have not been a big fan of Photobucket.

Over the years, I have witnessed many of these free storage sites shut down, due to various reasons: company goes bust, bought over, change of company direction, etc, etc.

To me, service like Photobucket works fine for short-term storage such as an auction listing. But for long term archive such as forum postings, the risk of losing your images is very real. Just imagine if the company behind Photobucket closes down, we will lose all our pictures in the forum! Worse still, if you do not have the original images stored in your local drive, they will be gone forever!

Although attaching images directly in your post will consume storage space and thus cost money, it is safer and the images will always be there, so long as the company hosting this forum don't close down!

Just my observations.

Regards.

Yes, I am in agreement with you Richard..

So please know everyone.. To feel free to use the forums image hosting , and "please no worries about saving the forum money" by using sites like Photobucket..  There are members here who financially support the forum well enough that we really don't have to worry about using Photobucket and others..
