Dear Members,

Here are a couple of bottles I was thinking about purchasing. Anything of interest or late 20th Century tourist bottles?

Thank you,

Brian

Dear Brian,

I like the second, not the first. I think it is Shandong School. But I'm notorious for not being able to judge from the internet.  Steven, Charll, etc., are much better.
Best,
Joey

The second is a little better, but neither are anything special, and the second is not Shandong..

Dear George,

Thank you. I'm so bad with Shandong, because I don't collect them.
So what is the second bottle? Just a tourist souvenir quality example like the first one?
Best,
Shana Tova,
Joey

I think the second one is a bit nicer than tourist grade, but not by a whole lot.

I was able to get the first bottle for a few dollars, so I went for it.

Dear Brian,

If a few if dollars can make you joyful, then that is all about the collecting.

I have been that stage before, but those bottles are somewhere in my garage now. I bet that you will be more joyful when you acquire some better bottles. But REALLY important, train your eye more before paying big on anything expensive. try to look more chinese art, maybe not snuff bottle, any art form would be good, I bet you can find some better bottles fit your budget in the future, I still have a few of bottles which I bought with a couple beers' budget, I still appreciate them now.

Happy hunting!

Steven

Hi Steven,

I too have bottles somewhere in my garage. Maybe we should organize a forum 'garage sale'.....   Grin

Good idea Tom!! Maybe George can help to set up a garage sale section, so we can put them on, all the funds can be donated to the Forum!

I gave all of my odd ball bottles to family and friends.. Just to try and spark some interests.. One friend has ended up actually taking an interest in snuff bottles as a result.. And has added several nice bottles to his collection ever since.. So they did not go to complete waste   Smiley

Good idea Steven! The bottles could kick-start interest by some new collectors...and help the Forum.
A win-win situation !!!
