Beautiful things deserve appreciation

Dear Joey,

Although not 100% certain, I think that is highly likely the case. The view is shared by quite many. By the way, I just learned that the Pinyin system was developed by Chinese linguist Zhou Yougang as part of the Chinese language reform to increase literacy in China. The system turned out to be very useful in helping foreigners grasp Mandarin pronunciation. It also helps standardize Mandarin pronunciation in China, enabling Chinese of various regions in China to better understand one another... Taiwan on the other hand adopts a different system. Personally I'm not familiar with it... Smiley

Best,
Samson
