Dear Members,

Is this a modern cloisonne bottle? The wiring and base appear to have no age.

Thank you,

Brian

Dear Brian,

The shape, the design, the poor quality of the enameling, and the wrong shades of the enamels, say to me that it is a modern 'fake'.
Look at  #77 in my 1987 catalogue, for genuine shape, subject, enamelling, and colour shades.
The genuine examples are quite simple and boring, but they ARE genuine. The flights of fancy, are just that. Soto me, worthless.
On this example, the artisan has not even filled in the 'cloisons' (cells) with enamel. Crap, to use the technical term.  Grin
Best,
Joey
