Dear members,

I saw this bottle in an upcoming auction. It is quite large, more than 4 inches. Is it a Yong Shoutian bottle? It looks like his signature and usual battle scenes.

Thank you,

Brian

Just sold for $125. Quite a low price. Wish it was me.

I can say that's less than I've paid! I saw that bottle but wasn't interested since I already have three first signature ones. What is a good range for first signature YST's George? Can you say?

I don't know why YST goes for so cheap. Maybe it's that he was so prolific there are just too many bottles out there.

Also I've bought an unsigned inside painted mother bottle that I'm sure is by another artist. I was thinking of starting a thread on "mother bottles" to see if we could start compiling a list of all the artists that painted them.

It seems the majority of my inside painted ones are mother bottles!

They vary quite a bit.. I have seen them sell for as little as 100 bucks.. Heck, I have on occasion purchased one for as little as 50.00. But then again, they can go as high as 600.00..  Honestly auction results for these vary quite a bit..

Dear Cathy,

Please don't call any bottle smaller than 4 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and 2 inches deep, a 'mother bottle'.
Ideally, don't feel the need to use a 'buzz word', like 'mother bottle', when 'large bottle' will suit.  It isn't helpful...
Thank you.
Shabbat Shalom,
Joey

Hi Cathy

I do agreed with Joey that it is unnecessary to coin such term as it just add to the confusion.

Regards.

Dear Richard and Joey,

Forgive me for using the term too much. Being a mother myself, I just liked the "catch phrase!" I will refrain from this in the future.  I don't think any of my bottles are over 4" so I must be misusing the term.

Dear Cathy,

     I forgive you.

Incidentally, it is not just height, but width and depth which combine to make a much larger than average bottle. It is something on the order of 4 inches (100mm) tall, 3 inches (75mm) wide and 2 inches (50mm) deep.
And the term 'mother bottle' is anyway not in very common usage, and thus confusing.
Remember the KISS theory (Keep It Simple, S.....)  Grin Roll Eyes,
