Very impressive Pin!

What program do you use to make it look continuous?

Hi Tom

I believe you can use any image editing program to snitch them together, like Adobe Photoshop or similar software.

There are also some digital camera software the has similar function to create a panoramic effect.

Regards.

PS: I have just found a thread which Pin posted during the month I was offline last October, so I missed it at the time:
http://snuffbottle.smfforfree.com/index.php/topic,2774.msg37439.html#msg37439

This explains the Photoshop process in great detail. Since I don't know even the first thing about using this software, I'll opt for the camera software instead. Sounds a lot easier!

Hahaha Tom!

Yes, the camera software has more specific functions and is easier to use.

On the other hand, Adobe Photoshop is a full-fledged image editing software and is much more powerful but more complicated at the same time.

Regards.

Hi Joey :

This is suppose to be the PHOTOGRAPHY section....  Grin Grin

Anyway, some details of the bottle

Height without stopper : slightly less than 3.5 inches
Artist :Lou Rui Shan (娄瑞山), sometime he will sign his bottle as Lou Shan (娄山)
School : Maybe Jing School..... (I think they just paint whatever way they like now.... schools and style is not so important for many of the present artist.... My opinion).... he is a friend and student of Zhang Yong....

The bottle was painted last year.

Hi All :

This is my write up for the bottle........

Chu Ci (楚辞)or the songs of Chu is a collection of ancient poetry that contain mainly the work of Qu Yuan (屈原). Chu Ci is also commonly referred to as the style of writing originated by Qu Yuan during the Warring States in China.

This bottle painted by Master Luo Shan on a clear rock crystal bottle depict a famous Chu Ci rhapsody call Jiu Ge (九歌), or Nine Songs. The rhapsody consists of 11 verses, despite the "Nine" in the title. Out of the 11 verses, nine verses are dedicated to gods and deities, one to the spirits of fallen warriors who died fighting far from home, and a final concluding verse. The reason for the discrepancy between the 9 verses referred to in the title and the fact that there are actually 11 is uncertain, although an important question.

Jiu Ge (九歌) seems to originate from some shamanistic dramatic practices of the YangZi River valley area involving the invocation of divine beings and seeking their blessings by means of a process of courtship. Other than the first and last verse, Dong Huang Tai Yi(东皇太一); The Eastern Emperor Tai Yi and Li Hun(礼魂); Rite for Spirits, which both are solemn songs for welcoming and sending off of gods and spirits, the rest of the rhapsody is refreshingly light and graceful.

Master Luo Shan has created a bottle filled with the mystical energy of Heaven and Hell with Qu Yuan as the central figure orchestrating the dances of fairies, dragon and the spirit from the underworld. A very captivating, energetic and colorful bottle that show off Master Luo Shan painting capabilities and artistic creativity.

Dear Pin,

Did he also teach you about great Chinese calligraphy works, such as the 'Lanting Xu', and 'My Humble House'?

I'm trying to find other such masterworks of Chinese calligraphy to have copied by Li Ruchen into modern quartz flasks for me.

Could you, or other members, suggest such works for me to suggest?
Thanks,
Joey
