So when you say you think it was made within the last 20 years, would it be considered a reproduction or not?
Also I've been studying the overlay glass bottles on sites like Christie's and besides the provenance, I have no idea how to distinguish the real from the fakes. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I would not call it a reproduction, but simply a modern snuff bottle.

There is a topic that was started, but we have not really added a lot to it lately.. http://snuffbottle.smfforfree.com/index.php/topic,1911.0.html

This back issue,October 2002 Arts of Asia magazine has a great article for seeing the differences between old and new overlays..
