Hey, George,

Reading your 'Chinese Medicine Bottles. Offspring To The Snuff Bottle' thread helped me to figure out what I have.  Its a medicine bottle.  It looks pretty much like a couple of the bottles shown on your top picture.   It measure 3.05 inches (7.8cm) tall, 242 inches (6.2cm) wide, and 070 inches (1.8cm) thick, and weighs 2.8 ounces.  It has a flat base and large mouth, as you described them.  It is made of ceramic (porcelain) with a blue glaze.

Hi Tito,

This bottle could have been used to contain any of a wide range of oimtments, linaments, and other medicinal  concoctions.

As discussed in the other thread, snuff was also considered to be a medicinal substance.  So it could also have been used for snuff.
