Dear All

A nice warm day here in Christchurch. Hope everyone is enjoying similar nice weather Smiley.

Here is my next snuff bottle, I look forward to your comments and thanks for your time. This was bought in an antique fair couple of years ago and the person selling it mentioned it came from a collector so hope this has some age. It still has a light coating of snuff in it.

Glass; of a flattened form with a recessed flat foot; painted on the inside with a figure in the garden on one side, and on the other with a colourful bird perched on a tree.

Stopper: lapis lazuli?
Spoon: either bone or resin
Height: 5.5cms without the stopper

Cheers
Uma

Pretty bottle Uma ..

The figure in the garden looks like he is going to step right out of the bottle Smiley

Hi  Uma

Very  simple  painting  style,  no   signature / no  nothing   written  inside the  bottle

But it  looks  "old"

My best  guess  is that  it's a  1920-1930    "tourist  class /  gift  shop "  bottle   bought  by  someone   doing  his   trip  round the  Far East  before  WW2

Cheers

Peter

Hi Peter

Thanks for your comments Smiley.

I am glad you think the bottle has some age to it, although a tourist bottle.

Cheers
