Hello everyone,

Interesting how things may go sometimes, I gave up a nice quality koi IP student bottle today- see "1st koi IP" under early middle and modern period bottles-  a wealth of information in the posts-  sending that one back to the seller, and this koi themed bottle arrived at my door shortly before the trip to the post office, this one is keeper.

Flattened rectangular body
Milk white with olive brown overlay
Fairly wide mouth:  approximately 7.9mm
H: 2 1/2" ; 6.4 cm
Sides with mask and long handles
Very well hollowed

Thank you for sharing this attractive bottle!

Altho I don't think this bottle is a Yangzhou shcool bottle, Yangzhou school style bottle might be more accurate.

This is a very nice contemporary glass overlay bottle, the fish carving is well done, but the the mask is off of the yangzhou bottle, if you look other samples , and mask ring from Yangzhou bottle is very simple and unique, the one on this bottle is too sophisticated . also the carving and overlay colors are off too.

Anyway, that is a very decent contemporary bottle I would love to have if it has the right price..

Steven: very good point thank you, regarding Yangzhou school mask handles, helpful to know. And yes, I purchased it at a very low price, less than 50 usd. So with the detailing I think the artist did an honest work, and as such I am very glad to have it

You should be very proud of this catch. $50 is not even able to pay for it's production cost.

The overlay carvings are done right and I agree with Steven on the dating.
