This one is up for auction, but wanted to share and add it here..

Pat mentioned that most of these are usually in the 1" - 1 1/2" range, and that some are larger. This one is a little large at 2 1/2"

Even though the seller is describing it as a snuff dish, the depth of this seems a bit deep as compared to the much more common flatter ones that are easily recognizable as snuff dishes.

So not absolutely convinced... You decide  Smiley

Hm... also not sure George.  Looks 'newer' and definetely on the edge of being too big.  The larger ones I was referring to are odd-shaped, like clover shape or other type.  I would venture to say this is 'not' a snuff dish, and I doubt the age, has too much 'shine', no patina...
