Craziness Number 1:

How much do you think this bottle went for in a auction that happened just this afternoon in Singapore Huh Make a Guess..........

S$100K  Shocked Shocked Shocked.... which is about USD78K..... hammer price only !!!!!!!!

Craziness Number 2 :

I won this bottle for S$200 dollars.... no K behind !!!..... which is about USD157.. hammer price.
I left the auction hall temporary to the cash teller to withdraw money to pay for the bottle in cash.
And guess what, when I went back to pay for my bottle, they told me that it was re-auction away at a
higher price bec of some crazy reasons !!!!! Angry Angry Angry Angry

When I reach home... I will check the Auction house name......... super craziness....

The only good thing that happen this afternoon is that I met Richard in the same auction.......... Hahaha

Hi Yi Pin

Yes, this auction house is really a joke!

If they wish to do business in Singapore, they better be more honest and ethical otherwise no collector will support their future sales.

Regards.

Dear Pin,
The first bottle is dreadful, but the second was quite nice. Sorry you didn't actually get it.
See you in 10 days +-.

Hi Pin,

I agree with Joey - the first bottle is dreadful......at any price.
The rock crystal one is quite attractive. What excuse did the auction house give you for reneging on your successful bid? That is inexcusable behaviour.

It's all over the shop....Hahahahah Undecided

First they say something like the reserved price was not met!!

And me and Richard was like..... What do yo mean, the whole auction is stated as no reserved price and it's printed in the catelog plus it's announced to the floor, and why suddenly this bottle had a reserved price while the rest of the hundreds do not have....

Then they say the starting price was wrong!!!

And we said.... What do you mean.... All the bottles had the same starting price of S$200!!! Why this one is different? And it's shown on the big screen!!!

Then they say there's some confusion during bidding!!!

what confusion? I was the only one that bid for the lot and I was given the invoice right after the lot closed!!!!

Anyway, at the end.... We were told that it's impossible to get the bottle back, if I want compensation, the poor lady that conduct the auction would need to pay me out of her pocket!!!

Crazy

I recommend that you go back and threaten to take them to the police for trying to 'fix' an auction, and also threaten to sue the company and get its licence taken away and it and its directors shamed for doing illegal dealings. Tell them that it will be published in the papers...
You've nothing to lose.
Good Luck,
Joey

Dear Yi Pin,
I am with Joey, I would not let them gain this game if I were you. I think taht if you will tell them taht you will sue them they will surrender. Once the hammer is down, there are no excuse, the bidder must have the item.
Good luck
Giovanni
PS: i fully agree also about the quality of the bottles, the second one is a good one while the first one is rubbish.

Dear Pin and All,

I agree that you should not let this matter rest. Their behaviour beats description!

Firstly, please name the auction house on this post. Secondly, this entire thread should be moved to the "public" area of the forum, so that the wider readership can see it, and blacklist this auction house. (George, are you OK with that?)

Tom

I wanted to ask the same thing Tom, and yes, agree 100% can move to public..

If anyone wants their comments that have been added to this topic removed before I move to public, please let me know..

Will give 24 hours before moving so as to make sure everyone is ok with their comments made so far going public..
