Yes, George I was watching and had bid in on 2 bottles prior to the auction.  Was bidding on another 3 during the auction, and got none.   Not a good week!!!!  I lost out on 9 bottles this week, of which most ended on a competitor's bid that was the same as mine (i.e., just edged in before my bid was received) or on the next bid higher.  Well, on the bright side I'm saving my money for other things.

I too did some bids on this auction. It is the first time for me that I leave bids at auction through internet. The starting prices was very low and I did try with few bids, but hey, the final prices was really high! So I got none, but in the meantime I had purchased a simple bottle on ebay that I am sure it is by Yan Yutian. Will post it as I will get it.

Did you get the double bottle? The only bottle sold recently by YYT could be a double bottle, very well painted, and good price as well.

yes it is a double bottle, no inscriptions and not so well painted I think. I found it strange that I have been the only bidder! If you have seen the other items from the same seller, he had also an agate snuff dish which was listed as mortar. I have traded it separately, it is my first snuff dish. Will post everything as soon I will get them.

I thought it would go high, and I already had a couple of Yan Yutian, so I didn't go for it, If I know it will go that low, I certainly don't want to miss that.

Congratulations! I think the painting is about the average compared with other YYT bottles.  I am really surprised that you can spot unsigned YYT bottle with that short period study. you must be very knowledgeable on chinese arts.
