Hi Curt,

I see two sides of one bottle, not two bottles. Unless the other side of each is undecorated.
From the painting style I would guess this bottle to be from the Tongzhi or Guangxu period.

Yes Tom, these are the two sides of the same bottle.  Thank you.

Here is the other bottle, unmarked.

Cheers,

Curt

Dear Curt,
all. Tom is right about the dating of the first bottle, to be more precise, it is surely Tongzhi. It can be dated so accurately thanks to the style of painting, especially regarding the faces of the person. There is an interesting book on this topic that we have already mentioned here. That type of faces do appear at the end of Daoguang period and last until the beginning of Guangxu period, but the very top is under Tongzhi and those on your bottle are very typical of that. Nice bottle.
As for the second bottle, the only image provided doesn't help so much but because of that pink and the enamels in general I think it is Guangxu.
Kind regards
Giovanni

The book Giovanni is referring to is:

Dating Chinese Porcelain from Facial Features and Adornments. by Tommy Ekloef.  Published Karlstad, 2013.

I cannot find the post where it was discussed. I will be picking up the copy I ordered when I get to London next month!
