Hi All :

Saw this bottle that is named as a "MSX".....The bottle dont seems to be correct. Is this a fake?  If this bottle is fake, the technic of faking seems to have improved, at least the picture looks more focused now and they tried to make the clothing looks really like painted.

Dear Yee Pin,

Just know that MSX will never appear in EBay. Collectors of his work will only buy bottles that have provenance.

You are correct about faking going to new height. I'm impressed with it. If cheap, can buy and do some test on it to know the faking process.  Tongue

Cheers,

Hi

Definitely a  fake

I saw   some   fakes  like  this   when I was   re-exploring Hollywood  Road  and   Cat  Street   with    Geoff    a  few  weeks  ago

I think the  back side  is  actually  hand-painted ( very  simple  -  just    half an  hour's   work)

I wish I knew  how     the  fakers   get  the   photo  inside the  bottle

The  actual   film  is  yellowish  as  you can see  from the   change  of  color   at the  neck of the  bottle

I accidentally  bought a   fake  bottle a  few  years   ago.  I did   some   experiments  on  it    :  scraping off the  yellow   film   with  a      sharp   piece  of  metal  . It   flaked  off

Cheers
Peter
