Hello and welcome !

Our forum has started to grow quickly with new members.. We are very excited to see the forum become so popular, and even more excited to watch new members find snuff bottle collecting so interesting with desires to learn and build their own collections...

There are but a hand full of long time, true expert collectors here..  These same collectors are more than happy to aid in the new members collecting journey..

The one problem is that this same hand full of members with the expertise to help have heavy schedules. Their time is very limited to how much they can devote in aiding here..

As a result..

If you have a bottle that you would like to learn more about, no matter if it is a bottle you possess, or a bottle you are considering to purchase, we have to ask that you do a little footwork before asking their expertise..

1st..  We understand that many people actually do not know what kind, or what medium their bottle falls into..  If you are not sure, then the first step is to post a picture in reply to this post/topic.. One of us will give you a basic description that you can use to search the forum's archives with..

2nd..  Use the forums search feature ( top right of forum ), and use the basic description of the bottle we provided you within that search box. Do a search, record the information you found as a result of that search.. It should include quotes/comments about other similar bottles that you find within the forum, as well as record any links that are relevant..

3rd... Once you have done your own research from the information within the forum's archived topics, "then" pick the appropriate board/category.. Post your bottle and share what you have learned including any referencing comments and or links, opening it up for a lively discussion..

This does a couple of things.. It shows the experts that you are willing to learn a little on your own before asking for technical help..  The experts here are far more willing to jump in and take the time needed to aid someone who has at least taken some time and interest in learning what they can on their own..

If a person is serious about collecting, then reading, and learning on our own is a must !  It is the most valuable thing we can do for ourselves when first starting out collecting..

You will feel so much more rewarded as a result of doing a little footwork on your own first.. It really is very important to the success of building upon a collection..

4th.. We have added about "Evaluation for Bottles here on the Forum Prior To Auction Date"
