Somethig to post ...  Smiley

I only have a couple of overlay bottles presently. One is brown overlay and the other is red overlay. Both on clear glass. Thought would do a little reading about glass.

Come to find out that material was sent to Peking in ingots for finishing in the lapidary method. Examination of carved glass bottles with a magnifying glass will reveals minute bubbles within the glass of these ingot carved bottles. These appear as small pinholes in the ground or polished surface.

I am able to easily see pin hole size bubbles using a magnifying glass within the bodies of both my two bottles.

Sorry George, but this is Latin to me... what is 'ingot'?  or ingot carving?

Ok, never mind.  Got it now.  An ingot is a mold of sorts.
