Hi everyone!

I posted an introduction over on the other board where that's appropriate, but I wanted to post some pics of some of my collection in the appropriate spots.  I have 3 IP bottles.

One (the one with the horse) came from an estate auction and has what seems to be a bone or ivory spoon.  That's about all I know about it.

The other two were purchased as a gift for me from my wife when she was in San Francisco a few months ago.

Any information about the bottles from the experts here would be wonderful!

If the pics aren't big enough, please let me know and I can upload bigger versions.

Thank you!
John

These are all modern tourist type bottles..

Many people have started out as new collectors with these and gradually work their way up to better quality bottles..

Keep them and after a few months of hanging out here, and asking questions, you will be able compare your future collection to these stater bottles..

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing your first bottles with us. I don't collect inside painted bottles, so can't give you an opinion on them, but I suspect George is right.

Not to worry, we all go through a learning curve when we start collecting. It's a necessary part of the process, and helps sharpen one's eye. The important thing is to have fun and enjoy the process, so long as you don't overspend!

It may help to get a few books on the topic, and to follow some of the snuff bottle auctions, most of which now have online catalogues.
