Hi everyone,

I picked this one up a few weeks ago. I believe it dates to the late 18th or 19th century, 1780-1850.

Another beauty Keith,

You might be right about the date, what is the size of the bottle?

Keith,

Yes indeed a pretty bottle.  I liked this one as soon as I saw it a couple weeks ago.  Dating appears right, but I would have to see a couple of oblique photo's of the mouth and the bottle's foot to get a better idea from photos alone.  Anyway, I have always admired this group of glass bottle, but have yet to own one.

Dear Keith,
It looks right to me, but I would dispute your dating. I would say ca.1750-1820 at the latest.
Best,

Hi,

The bottle is 7 cm (2 3/4") high. It is amazing how some bottles have
a modern feel and others fit right into a time period.
You may be right about a slightly earlier date Joey, similar ones I have
found all date close to the dates you suggest.

Dear Keith,
At one stage, I had 50+ plain glass bottles, the earliest an Imperial Yellow in the correct shade of the Yongzheng Emperor (ca.1722-1735) and the latest an octagonal bottle in opaque turquoise blue with an incised Daoguang  Imperial reign mark, and of the period.
But most of my bottles were elegant examples like this one, and easily dated 1750-1800. I only added the 20 years (to 1820) to cover my a--.  Wink   Grin
