I found this little jewel in the Cape Fear area yesterday, a glass bottle imitating realgar. Probably 18th-19th century...

Keith,

What a nice find and great looking bottle.  Now you just need to find that appropriate stopper to match!

The bottle came with this carved cinnabar cap, but I don't really like it with the bottle...

Dear Keith,
You are totally right. It doesn't suit at all. I recommend a green & white stopper with a black collar, or a white stopper with a black collar would work well, also.
Best,

Hi Keith,

I agree, there are many better options for a stopper on this bottle, including Joey's suggestion.

But don't discard the cinnabar lacquer stopper! It will nicely compliment almost any bottle made of an organic material like ivory or wood........even porcelain.
